Steampunk Viking Werewolf faction.

Ohyes.

Gears whirring, fangs glistening, axes dripping with messy bits from the previous thing that got in the way...

Hm. I was joking when I wrote it but now I kinda want to see the concept art. Hah.

Now there's a unique idea. No one could ever say they had seen that before.

How about a race of sparkly vampires? Anyone? No? Thought so. . .

Honestly, i like the khanis faction suggested by werewalrus. A very cool idea. I would really like to see the orcs and goblins again, but only if it featured the variety seen in the LOTR series. you had the gundabad, the uruk-hai, the goblins, the mordor orcs, the black orcs, so much good stuff. Possibly a faction similar to the Prototype series characters? humans infected by a disease/virus that literally makes them subservient to one being thru a hive mind, as well as being mutated by said virus. Also capable of infecting other units?

Depends what Dinosaurs they would have ;)

T. Rex with lasers mounted on his back while firing rockets from rocket pods on each of his sides would be OP but a mounted cavalry (replace Horse with Velociraptor) that would be good :D

I'd like to see an ethereal faction. Some sort of trans-dimensional being. Energy in a physical state, with some unique properties.

That could be interesting. How would they fit into a fantasy setting though?

Love the Dinotopia reference. Wouldn't want a dinosaur faction on their own, but a faction that mounts/tames dinosaurs as their vehicles of war would be sa-weet! Props to whoever thought that one up ;)

Really like the idea of a mounted faction, always love a high mobility faction in a RTS. Maybe they could reposition their buildings when their resources are depleted?

I like the idea of infecting units and spreading a disease, but i think it'll work better as a spell then a faction. It would be awesome to use the hard hitting units of a faction against them.

What if you integrate that ethereal faction as a spirit faction in the game? That would fit the fantasy setting.

i like the orcs and goblins from warhammer, where the orcs constantly beat on their own goblin allies. in Mordheim, a warhammer variant, when a goblin levels up and becomes a hero (this is on any other faction the best level-up bonus you can roll for a henchmen) the orcs actually kill the just turned hero goblin. orcs dont want to see a goblin acting like he's one of them.

also +1 for the dinosaurs (good pics werewalrus)

I think it will be an obivous thing to think of the Orcs being a faction in this game.
They are in almost every single fantasy setting there is :P

yea but there is a huge difference in the way they are portrayed. i always like warcraft's way of showing the orcs as NOT evil in particular, just at war with humans.

Which is a great thing to see!
Alot better than going with the norm of fantasy where the Orcs are the generic evil race along with Goblins being allied to them. Humans ruling the land and generally the "good" guys etc

idd that is what put me off most of the time. i like lore to go deep enough to allow for different viewpoint instead of some guys being just evil and the others simply the good guys. if you build your lore right it doesn't have to be like that as you can see in warcraft. i don't think anyone sees him/herself as evil, so why should orcs or undead do so?

Orcs are great, but I hope there will be more unique, innovative and interesting factions than the generic classic fantasy races.
