I think the resources are a limited resource so your spawn location resources will eventually run out and so you have to go and leave your base to find more or risk possibly extinction by turtle

It was said you would have too leave your base too get more. My cocnern with the limtied resource modle is, what if a game is a pure stalemate and has been dragging of forever, what happens if both sides run out of resources. Will commanders who can spawn free minions, or produce resources have and advantage over the other team? If not will the resources be plenty enough that we can expect it too out last an hour long game?

I think that if it does come to the point of a stalemate with no-one having resources then it really does boil down to the hero fights with commander ability support (whatever that may be) since they would be the only things left to use in fights.

Maybe resource nodes will never be entirely depleted (ie giving off 60g each time they are mined when full, and giving only 10g each time they are mined when empty for instance.
although this still shifts the power from the commander to the heroes.
