Last Hitting. AKA how you farm.

If any one has played any Moba game long enough you will have to learn what is called last hitting. IE. landing the last blow on the enimy creep to get the gold. At high level play in LoL this is a very important skill for players to learn becaues end game bulids can win games if you have the gold. Now I know IronClad has said you get gold from killing creeps and heros along with RTS income but HOW much of a focus will last hitting be escpially when the creeps can just turn and kill you via comander order?

getting gold from killing creeps doesnt necessarily mean last hitting. you could get gold simply from being in the area when they die.

Guys I direct you to the article/preview pinned topic. Then to the rock,paper,shotgun article. There it has info that rewards will be based off of a algorthim that says who contributed to the kill. So last hitting won't be nearly as big of an issuse in this game.

That is right Jeru.  Now support units who make a significant contribution to a kill will get their due credit, and you'll see less intra-team fighting over the last hit.

This is a big improvement over the MOBA system to be honest! especially because getting money from kills will probably come from skirmishes instead of something akin to a laning phase :)

In LoL unless you play  competitively with a team, it's kind of a solo game, you have to try to carry your team as i construe as difficult to coop with a lot of ppl.I think that not being that in-team competition, the games will be more team-coop oriented and more balanced.

Well LoL is like DoTa, random people just don't work out..You have too play as if your going too carry or you might as well not play.

They can work out pretty well as I have played many of games in solo queue but the win/loss ratio was about 3 losses for every 1 win which wasnt that great to have.
half of the games had no communication either and we did win oddly.

Sounds like a good idea to me. There was a good post on the League forums a while back about how 'last hitting' is an 'old and redundant game mechanic' and I thought it was quite interesting. I like the solution Ironclad has taken to this, visa vie an algorithm where, depending on the amount of damage you dealt to the unit, you will be rewarded a percentage gold-amount (I think?).

I again direct you to hon. THe hero who lands the kill does get a set amount for it, but gold is dealt out more to who did more for that kill.

LoL doesn't do it, but HoN does. And as for last-hitting, LoL, unlike dota or HoN, doesn't have a creep deny system. Which i doubt this will have either.

There is honestly no reason for this game to have a creep deny system. It makes no sense from an RTS standpoint to kill your own units

Iv said this many times on LoL, if you got a pubber who talks outside of saying MIA, then you got a problem. They are more often then not a troll.

I may only have roughly 70 games in HoN but I for one never saw or noticed the mechanic. I noticed the reward for kill and reward for ASSIST, not how much you did. What I beleive we are talking about here is much more complex.

How are they a troll if they talk more than just calling SS on champs? Though I maybe misunderstanding what you mean by "talks outside of"

I mean if instead of saying MIA when a hero leaves a land they go on a little talk about something else.

Ahh well I don't mind that at all and often find it is better that they do because then they would be more open to communication and teamwork as opposed to people who don't talk and just ignore working as a team and then complain when they die because we were busy taking a tower while he was solo'ing top despite us asking/telling him to stay with us
