So, what would you guys like to see in SOADA's store?

Just skins?

Do you want deeper customization? Choosing weapons, voices, etc.

XP bonuses?

Army skins?

How aggressive should the skin releases be?

What MoBa or RTS would you like to see it modeled after?

the ingame store should be all about weapons and upgrades, but i'd like to see wards and oracles as well.

but i guess you mean the out of game store, i will probably just buy some skins for my favorite heroes or weapons if that's an option.

All of the above, and skin releases whenever possible.

?

How is the pacing in other MOBA's? LoL puts out a hero every two weeks. Is this good pacing? Should Ironclad put out a hero every week...at least in the beginning? Perhaps they only release 30 or so, but have 50 ready to go.

I'd like to see some bundles...

Commander with appropriately themed heros....like an Empire pack.

Champion only bundles

Commander only bundles

Will we see something equivalent to runes (like LoL) in order to personalize our champions?

Will we see runes for Commanders?

I would like to see:

In-game currency boosts
Champions/Heroes
Commanders
Skins
Skins with new and possibly funny voiceovers (Gentleman Cho'Gath anyone?)
Specific champion bundles in order of archtype, specific dates (Example: All champions released between January and March 2012), and faction stance
Army skins

League of legends has way, way too many heroes, but Riot is stuck in a death spiral where the only way they can make money is if they keep pumping out heroes.

There is a huge overflow of champions with skills that are only slightly different from one another

Oh yes I have noticed that myself now.
Ashe has pretty much become useless in most ways (her skills have been reinvented for other champions 'cept her Ult) except in that she is easy to play.

They need to start working on more things than just Champions all the time. People have even asked them to STOP with releasing champions so often and instead focus on the new map or the stealth remake because there are too many champions but nope they don't listen.

i would like to see skins being more meaningful then they are in lol, like voice overs indeed or at least different animations for the hero's abilities and stuff like that. that would make it far more interesting to buy and check out new skins...

Definitely. That would be so awesome. It might get a little difficult to do once the roster becomes substantial, but I'm totally agreeing with ya here. I would be more inclined to buy a skin if it came with animations and voice acting...sorta like the legendary skins from LoL. Speaking of...I wonder if IC is going to go this route as well...

What would you consider to be a fair price for skins, and skins with animations/voice acting?

It would be great if all skins could get new animations and voice acting, I think $2 if it is only for a hero, then $5 if it is for a commander if all the units he has looks different.  It would be cool if they had weekly says like some other games.

New animations and voice acting are hard to do. I would say that's a little low on a price for a recolor. Should be $5 or 6 for both, imo. New animations would probably be twice as much, and new voice acting twice as much again.

Regardless about how much it costs, it doesn't mean they need to release a new skin for that champion every 4 weeks like LoL seem to be doing
(still waiting for Pulsefire Ez, sooo retro and so awesome :D )

Out of curiosity, how many skins do you guys have in other MOBAs?

I own 9, but a few of them were free (LoL)

I have like a dozen skins in LoL and I usually only buy the ones on sale since you can pay upwards of 10 dollars just for one cosmetic skin with no voice or animation effect.  Free skin options for doing something is always nice to have and I know that LoL gave free riot points for members who have played it for a while and that would be cool to have for fan appreciation.  If the skins are priced reasonably and they have awesome new animations and sounds I would be willing to buy them.

Ironclad said they wouldn't make SoaDA a grind fest, and players would have all heroes/Commanders unlocked for them - at least, that's what I thought they said back in March?

If this is true, their only revenue source as far as I can see is skins. Personally, I don't mind the 'grind fest', and I wouldn't mind having to unlock heroes/Commanders by playing the game. I've spent a couple hundred on LoL via gift cards for friends/family, and in-game skins, but I have never once purchased a hero with money. Having said that, I do own most heroes.

I don't think the rate at which League produces champions is too fast, nor do I think that the skins they produce are poor quality. The skins have evolved greatly over the past two years, originally simply being recolours. Now they include different particles, animations and effects, and sometimes even voice overs.

Ironclad should mimick the League business model imo - it's the best out there as far as I'm concerned.

A lot of the well done skins in LoL costs like $20 dollars, you can buy a whole new game for that much money.  They should have sales like LoL which they do well, I never buy heros/champs with real money when you can just play a fun game to earn ingame currency to buy other heros.  When I think of a  free to play I think of a full game with benefits from buying things that don't effect gameplay, yet improve overall experience.  I would pay for a skin I like easily, but i wouldn't spend more then what I think a game is worth (usually its the basic at $60) for only cosmetic additions.

I disagree with you there Destroyers. I would be willing to buy a skin or two, spending no more than $40, simply to say "Thanks" to Riot for making a decent game, amazing if you consider that it's F2P.

If SoaDA turns out up to expectations, then I would definitely spend some money in the store.
