I love the concept and idea, but what are we looking at time-wise? (hopefully less than 3-4 months?)

One would hope, but this game just got announced. Unless they have been sitting on this for a long time, I'd wager a year or two at the earliest.

I'm going to try to avoid laughing at that one, but Delerious is right.  A year or two is the best you can hope for.

Now, there may be a beta available sooner than that...

Honestly i dont think a release date is the most important question. A more prepared game is much more enjoyable. A beta by this summer already is enough to chew for now.

I was about to answer the quest but the Admin did.  I was going to say, you all should know better by now on how IC works when it comes to release dates.  They have recently taken the stance when its done.  After they got burnt buy Magic and the terrible release it had.

Anyway, I’m glad to see this new game coming out.  I’m hoping it has large scale maps and the games will lasted a few hours.  2 would be nice.  also, does this game support building walls? There are no games out that allow the player to build walls to proptect themselves.  The last great game that did that was Empire Earth, Dawn of a Modern Age.  Great game!!

I'm not sure what Magic game you are referring to, but Ironclad has only been involved with the 'Sins of a Solar Empire' Franchise. It wouldn't be fair to say our releases were flawless, but they were very stable

I'm assuming he meant Elemental:War of Magic. With Stardock's many Developer / Publisher / Distributer hats, it's not too hard to get them all confused.

On Elemental, Fallen Enchantress is in Beta for anyone who had Elemental early on.

The game I’m referring to would be Elemental: War of Magic, I thought that IC had a part in this games release or publishing it?

This game had a very bad release.  anyway, Maybe I got the games mixed up.

I can wait; I want the game to actually be done when it's released. In the meantime I'll play Sins of a Solar Empire and pretend it has dragons. Or maybe dragons commanding carriers.

The site says beta this summer.  If that's a realistic time frame, they had to have been working on this for some time.  Think about it though, since SoSE, they've only released expansion packs.  My guess is that they've been working on this for a long time now.

Since it's free-to-play we'll probably see a long beta period w/ weekly updates.  Also since it's F2P beta won't be gimped like most games.

He´s referring to "Elemental - War of Magic" which is developed by Stardock. I guess since SoaSE was also under the label of Stardock released, he fears the same fate which the Magic game had: a really bad release.....

Referring to the release date:
hope it won´t be too far (speaking of years...) since a lot of people may lose interest then.....
