It's sad this discussion topic even has to be here! Personally I don't even think to assign a gender to a PC I'm playing with or against...

Was it the CTRL-ALT-DEL comic that posted the strip about the girl winning at Halo-- distracting all the other male players by telling them she was a girl just before killing them? That's totally happened to me.....

MORAL: Always let the girls in!! Especially if they kick your a**!! Otherwise, how are you going to get better at the game?  :P

But they generate this kinda of behavior...that I see in these past few post, instead of looking at the issue, they try too express the correctness  to the female base. Look this topic indeed should not exist, but the sad fact is most males don't know how too control their well..urges. Its sad but true, that men will do things they should not do too any female. Their imagination is a perfect female on the other end and do all their little perverse stuff. Its the fact.

Anyway, thats why I prefer people to  be anonymous.

Complete anonymity would be interesting....but doesn't really challenge us to be better people. Even our games should do that, right?

Besides, people wouldn't be able to really brag then! Denying men another of their basic instincts--proving their superiority over each other! :)

It would be interesting to see how well a simple reporting tool could be handled. I can't say I have any suggestions (I have no experience with these sorts of communities, as I mentioned in a long post on the community regulations thread you started @Thanatological), but hopefully with the developers, and suggestions from people like you who have had experience, they'll come up with something so that no one, of any label, will feel unwelcome....

Good point. However I guess I still decide too leave it too the community.

Dominance? Can't say I care for it. However, I will never fully understand man not will I care too.

Anyway thank you again for interest in my thread. However, don't put yourself down due to lack of experience. However, I am a very arbitrary person so I fear I can not address most issues in the most efficient of ways.

I prefer not to think of it as anonymity - having an online persona is a better model. You can have an androgynous persona, but still be a very active and positive part of a community.

Well the problem is..when I do peopel either assume I am a guy or girl..Most people assign gender regardless if I want it or not .Its very sad but true. However I feel we have driven rather offtopic so I must apologize for that.

I think the reason people normally assume it is a guy is because they are still not aware of the vast majority of female gamers that are starting to join hundreds of games each day and if they do encounter them they just instantly think they are the generic 14 year old kid who has a very high-pitched voice (if she talks).

But ofcourse if that person also reveals they are a girl then, from my experience of this stuff happening, they tend to hit them and asking all the stupid questions "do you have a bf?" "**** or gtfo" etc etc.

I don't blame girls who prefer to be anonymous as I can understand why for a very good reason.

These days, the same thing can be said for girls.  I see it far too much.

But anyway, I don't mind girls playing.  I have a lot of female friends that play games, my daughter loves playing video games with me, especially Dark Alliance on the Xbox.  (that's her personal favorite)  We'll sit down and co-op play that all night long sometimes.  It's better then her running around with boys all night.  ;P  And believe me, they try and try and try to get her to sneak out almost every single night...
