That guy can not be all there. He's got to have some sort of mental/emotional problems. I don't think he's a good case to point out for this. That hurt to watch. :-/
Yes it was hard to watch haha.
I think it was revealed a few days after I watched it for the first time he was just trolling or something but it honestly didnt seem like that at all from how he reacted when she left the game.

@Arkainon But..I like tumble..and a guy like that is fairly more common then any of us would like.

@IamD967 Iv had bad experiences with people online in general. I also am active in about twenty forums right now. A majority of them being for small communities. I have been banned from a few for sharing my gender. Iv also had people banned just because I have stated opinions and they replied too it and got banned just because they were another gender. However I also am not limited too English forums and games and its a lot less common in English forums and games.

Would Tumble stack with "Drunk"? :D haha

and that is alot of forums! :o I only remain active in about...one or two! and this being one of them and the other being my old Freelancer Discovery forums (mainly in the General Gaming section though). I have no idea how you can cope with 20! IN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES! pff...show off :P

Banned because you/they were female? really really stupid -.- makes me wonder if they have actually had contact with girls in the real world since that is really harsh to someone they have never met.

edit: I call dibs on Leonardo! :D

If it makes you feel any better, part of it is where I posted three times in a row. Also, silliness. See above.

certainly a girl could get in due to the fact that on the internet you could be a (insert noun) of any sort and pretend to be a (insert noun). however the quesiton I beilieve is two fold: one, are females in general welcome to the community and two, whether or not the game will be realistic or playing the now getting very old sex card to attract male gamers. SO my hope is that the first will be prevalent and the later non-exsistent.

Jeewiz Mr. White Knight

See AFAIK the interwebz is a place for anonymity, so if your girl and u happened to come out and play games good for you but don't go around attention seeking that girls need to play and is this game girl friendly, if your a girl good for you, now STFU and play. I'm a guy, you don't see me go around starting threads saying is the game guy friendly. By putting yourself out there saying i'm a girl and blahdy blah blah you are just seeking that much more attention and honestly in games there is only one gender and that is, the gender "GAMER" There is no male, no female, we are all gamers...

It has been entirely too long of a time since I have seen a thread so thoroughly intelectual, amusing, class/y/less/ic and quite frankly refreshing in an odd way.

As a male who met his perfect female in game across the nation, who knows of at least two other males who also met their perfect females across the planet, and a couple females/males who met their perfect males/females across the nation, all with the exception of one poor bastid who now live together happily I can say, happy gamers are a special breed and worth the time. Regardless of gender or relation.

And thats not including the many friendships amongst those serious relations I know of. Friends are a good thing to have, after all who else is gonna watch your 6 when the chips are down and the newbs are already dead?

I don't pay attention to gender on the internet.

I just assume everyone is an 80 year old pervert trolling for dates.

I agree with the paranoid statement. However the one fellow who met his girl through gaming, that very interesting. It's one of those fairy tales/miracles that actually can happen. ^_^ But you don't believe and hope happens  . So good for you to making this dark internet a little brighter.

Ahhh im not really that much of a white knight :P but I do try haha.

I hope the rest of that wasn''t directed to me personally here
There is nothing wrong at all if a woman wants to announce that she is a female but it does depend on how they do it. Obivously if it is a post that is all "Hey all! My name is is Sarah (yes I am a girl!) I don't welcome alot of attention at all" then go along and post alot of pics of their various parts then yeah it is obivous they are somewhat of an attention seeker as opposed to just "Hi all, my name is Sarah. I think that the factions should be.." etc etc but that doesn't mean they should all be branded as such purely because they are female and are announcing it.

As Jeru said, it was nice to hear that someone is actually nice that it did happen for you and your friends and it has gone really well :)

The core of the issue:

It's the same as it always has been. It's a territorial thing. Base instincts to mate and propogate. It's just a lack of control, lack of respect, and lack of self-awareness to know what's actually going on.
As a student of psychology, I've learned to skip past all of the open, obvious answers to dig deep into the human psyche to try and find the core, root causes of our behaviors. And in my experience, a lot of it is simply a manifestation of our natural biological instincts. Fight or flight, territorial dominance, hiearchy, survival of the fittest, genetics.. all of that ties in together, then ties in with our own experiences, the lessons we were taught, the way we were raised, the things that we see and do, the people we hang out with, the revelations we have... All of it ties in together in different ways to make us all individual, complex people, but at the core, much of it is still the same.

It's just jocks shoving each other around in the locker room to see who's biggest and baddest; just trying to assert dominance, albeit in a pathetic manner. Bullying people to push out the weaker. It's just epeen. Seriously. It hasn't changed since before we found out how to rub sticks together to make that hot, magic light that hurts our fingers if we get too close to it. We're more intellectual now, but if we don't realize what we're doing, we're powerless to alter our behavior. And even when we do realize, sometimes it can just be hard to break a habit. As a sentient race, we can rise above our instincts, but no one said it's going to always be easy.
I agree to an extent. I believe that people can learn to alter themselves and their actions it they choose to. Sure somethings guys do is purely instinctual, but they can choose to follow that instinct or not. It all depends on if they choose to let their ego run their lives or not. If that wasn't the case, for both men and women alike, they would not be able to live together. There would be a constant fight to prove who is the dominant gender. As the people become more intelligent to the way things work, I believe that they also learn to control themselves more. I know that as this is coming from a female, guys may be more inclined to ignore it, and I may seem bias but I am not. I am only making my opinion known. Whether anyone chooses to agree is up to them.
