Welcome to Sins of a Dark Age! Congratulations to those of you who correctly guessed the URL acronym from our temporary teaser page, soadagame.com. My deepest apologies to those eagerly awaiting ‘Sins of a District Attorney’. Perhaps next year. Many of you also made an attempt to guess the mysterious creature hidden in the leather background (Take a second peak if you missed it). The most popular guess by far was a dragon and the most unusual was probably a porcupine. It was hard to hold back the laughter as we followed the guesses. Have a look through this site and see if you can find him
I should really introduce myself. My non-game name is Craig Fraser. I am the creative director for Sins of a Dark Age and an Ironclad co-owner. I’m sure you’ll be seeing my face around here - at just about any hour - as we develop the game. You’ll also encounter a very similar face - my brother Blair, who is the producer for the game and also an owner. More of the Ironclad family will be popping in over time to introduce themselves and share their expertise.
Those of you who remember us from Sins of a Solar Empire will know how involved we like to be with the community. We owe much of the success of the Sins series to the incredible amount of feedback our players shared with us throughout development…and years after! I hope we can uphold our reputation and recreate the same passionate community here. We ask for your help in building a respectful, fun, and supportive environment. Please speak up, create posts, participate in polls, and let us know what you really think. A great community will inspire us to make an even greater game!
You may be wondering what state the game is in now. Well, I can't give away too much just yet, but I can tell you that every Wednesday at 3:00 our team takes a break from the grind to play our game. After 30 minutes of intense gaming my heart is racing and the team is huddled around a screen checking stats, watching replays, reliving the dramatic highlights of the game, laughing at our embarrassing loses, and re-evaluating our strategies. Regardless of the outcome, one thing is ALWAYS certain – we need to play again...immediately. Happy Sinning!

So this is a purely online multiplayer game.
Are you going to be hosting the servers or are people going to host them.
Because I live in Australia and if its based somewhere in Amercia its going to be annoying.
EDIT: Once you have shown GDC can you show us some pics or videos PLEASE!!!!

Considering the simple yet complex awesomeness you've put together in the past the prospect of a fantasy based RTS of any kind from you guys is going to be interesting indeed, I'm already giddy at the possibilities.
Are we looking at a whole new independant world of lore here like I think we are or is this a legacy from something else, like leftovers from the project following the guy who created Fall from Heaven 1 and 2? (Cant remember his name but I know he tried to get onboard with you guys and ended up having to make a buisness decision to cancel it).
Look forward to letting you guys give it a shot! Its a totally new world of lore of our own creation. The guy who did Fall from Heaven is Kael (D.Paxton) and he currently works for Stardock (the company that published our (Ironclad's) last game - Sins of a Solar Empire).

Interesting
So it will be much like a MOBA game + comander on top? Warcraft 3 + DOTA at the same time? Yummy

I'm talking about e-sports. Dota 2 is engaged in one of the first places on the count of Tournaments. Will we see the top teams on Sins of a Dark Age?

Lol, that is an awesome picture. Will Sins of a Dark Age we popular in the top tournaments? I have no idea, its really difficult to make that sort of prediction. It will be up to the community, the top players and the tournament organizers. I think there are definitely elements of the design that would make it compelling to e-sport fans but there also elements that make it appealing a much wider range of people as well.
